In the map below, we located the position of the MUOS ground station in Niscemi, Sicily and of the monitoring devices that the sicilian environment protection agency (ARPAS) installed between 2008 and 2009.

In the first session, point measurements were taken, both at the HF frequency (41 satellite antennas) and at LF frequencies (VERDEN antenna that allows communication with diving submarines). Continuous measurements were taken, as well. Radiation values were above the attantion limit of Italian law.

The ARPAS agency went on with continuous monitoring, due to the worrying results of the first monitoring campaign. The results were close to those abtained before.

Next monitoring campaign was conducted from 2012 to 2013, due to protests of our movement. Again, the data show the limits were often exceeded. The ARPAS agency justified this saying that discounting interferences from the LF antenna, radiations were slightly below limits.

We do not have any documents from summer 2013 and thereafter. We cannot tell if, after the monitoring campaing of ISPRA (a Government agency), the ARPAS agency has run further monitoring sessions.
